What We Do

Comprehensive Fire & Emergency Services

From emergency response to community education, our volunteer team is trained and equipped to keep Boles and the surrounding area safe — around the clock.

01

Emergency Response

Structural fires, vehicle accidents, hazardous material incidents, and medical emergencies — our volunteers respond quickly and professionally whenever the community needs us most.

02

Fire Prevention & Inspections

We conduct residential and commercial fire safety inspections, install smoke detectors for those in need, and help property owners identify and eliminate fire hazards before they become disasters.

03

Community Education

Free fire safety workshops at schools, senior centers, and community events. We teach fire escape planning, CPR basics, and how to use a fire extinguisher — knowledge that saves lives.

Our Story

Built on Volunteer
Spirit Since 1988

We're not a professional department with paid staff — we're your neighbors, coworkers, and friends who show up when it matters.

Y City Volunteer Fire Department was founded in 1988 by a small group of Boles residents who recognized the need for reliable emergency coverage in our rural community. What started as five dedicated volunteers operating from a borrowed bay has grown into a full-service department serving the Boles area and parts of the surrounding River Valley.

Every member of our department trains regularly, maintains certification, and answers calls from their homes, their jobs, and their families — because this community deserves protection from people who genuinely care about it.
